Financial Analyst Intern

Job Description

​International Bancard is looking for a Financial Analyst - Intern. Reporting directly the CFO, this role will assist with business analytics, financial modeling and ad hoc analysis and assist the CFO.   As a financial analyst, you will be asked to provide  analysis on the company’s profitability, solvency, stability and liquidity. You also assist in doing research and analyzing financial information to help the company make well informed decisions, write reports and monitor financial movements.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Track expenses and revenues vs. budget and reforecast and analyze fluctuations

  • Develop, maintain and distribute ad-hoc reports and financial models as needed

  • Evaluate profit and cost efficiencies in various areas of the organization as needed

  • Provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance

  • Develop financial models

  • Identify trends, advise company and recommend actions to the CFO based on analysis

  • Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts

  • Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function

EDUCATION & SKILLS NEEDED:

  • In pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the field of in Finance or Business  will also consider Engineering or other quantitative disciplines

  •  Analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills

  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel)

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization

  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills

  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner

  • Accounting/GAAP knowledge is a plus

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior internship work experience in field of finance or general business 

  • Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities

  • Demonstrated aptitude for analytical thought
