Controller
Job Description
Working within our finance team here in downtown Detroit you will help analyze business performance, manage internal and external relationships, and create solutions to a wide variety of interesting challenges.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Maximize return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems

Assist with acquisition diligence and post-merger integration

Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures

Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
-
Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits and providing information to external auditors
-
Prepare budgets by establish schedules; collect, analyze, and consolidate financial data
-
Achieve budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
-
Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
-
Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
-
Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions

Maintain financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
-
Maintain financial staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results

Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING and/or EXPERIENCE:

You are an active and licensed CPA
-
You thrive in a high energy environment and operate with a sense of urgency

You have strong organizational skills and are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Netsuite and PowerBi
