Business Development ISV/VARS

Job Description


The Business Development ISV/VAR Sales will have the primary responsibility for finding, acquiring, and building new strategic partnerships with ISVs/VARs that will process through our Payment Gateway as well as to help drive warm referrals in to the organization through International Bancard’s Referral Partner and/or Referral Affiliate Programs.


  • Prospect, HUNT and meet with potential ISV’s/VARs to integrate to our payment gateway and to send additional leads into the organization.

  • Own and meet or exceed weekly, monthly and annual targets for driving net-new business for International Bancard.

  • Identifying successful strategies for connecting with target buyers/influencers/gatekeepers, and the ability to engage in an on-going business development relationship.

  • Build strong and effective working relationships with sales and marketing team members.

  • Maintain a high level of outbound activity that is recorded properly in CRM system, daily.

  • Develop go-to-market strategies and execute programs that drive net-new business.

  • New programs will include, but are not limited to, identifying and calling upon potential ISV’s/VARS.

  • Responsible for building the sales pipeline directly by intersecting all sales and marketing initiatives to help grow pipelines.

  • Review and analyze available data to determine best market opportunities and programs to drive International Bancard’s success in the market place nationally as it pertains to the ISV/VAR market.

  • Build and cultivate prospect relationships by initiating communications and conducing follow up communications in order to move opportunities through the sales funnel.

  • Work with the Senior Vice President of Sales and Inside Sales Manager to develop and grow the sales pipeline to consistently meet quarterly revenue goals.

  • Manage data for new and prospective partners in Passport, ensuring that all communication, information is logged and accurate and that all required documents are completed and attached accordingly.

  • Develop new business via telephone and mass communication such as email, social media, etc. to introduce International Bancard and identify appropriate targets, including referral partners and affiliates within the target market(s).

  • Follow up on leads and conduct research to identify potential prospect referral partners/affiliates.

  • Represent the company in a professional and congenial manner in person, on telephone conversations, and in written correspondence (general correspondence, contracts, agreements, and proposals)

  • Track progress of ongoing initiatives including strategic plans and goals or initiatives as determined by the executive leadership team.

  • Work closely with Senior Financial Analyst to integrate performance and management objectives with financial performance of the organization.

  • The candidate will be required to remain informed, track, and communicate any innovative technological advancements in the payment integration space. 


  • Currently in a sales role in which they are finding and developing relationships for a sales organization, specifically within the ISV/VAR marketplace.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive quantifiable business results with strategic direction and leadership.

  • Must have a large Rolodex of current targets.

  • 5-10 years of direct sales experience selling into the ISV/VAR market is required.

  • Must have a proven track record as a hunter in new partner/business relationship identification and development

  • Strong understanding of sales strategy and how sales processes and models work.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing in business administration, preferred.


  • Experience in the payment gateway or payment integration space for both card-present and card-not-present payments

  • Strong professional and social networking presence

  • Solid understanding of EMV technology and its certification process

  • PCI-DSS and PA-DSS Compliance

  • Strong knowledge of ecommerce solutions (e.g., shopping cart technology, payment checkout, etc)

  • Strong understanding of XML or JSON API Integration


  • Working knowledge of networking

  • Understanding of cloud technology

  • Understanding POS technology

  • Understanding of hosted web solutions

  • Working knowledge of a coding language (e.g.; PHP, Ruby, Python)
